Family

Matt's parents have been have been on a quick European tour.
Because they used our place as their "home base,"
we've had a chance to get to spend some great time with them!

Thank you so much for visiting us Lenny & Sharon, aka Papa & Mimi.
(Yes, her name is "Sharon" too. :-)

More photos coming soon, but we are heading out to our church retreat in about 20 minutes,
so I've gotta make this blog brief.

She's growing up!

I found her like this.
It didn't take me long to figure out where those black marks had come from
. . . my mascara.

So, I did what any good mom would do.
I scolded her for getting in to my make-up making sure she knew that my make-up was off limits for her.

And then I told her not to go anywhere . . .
. . . I needed to go get my camera.

Don't judge me.

The funny part was that she didn't know whether she should smile or not.
She had just gotten in trouble after all.

Finally she felt free enough to crack a timid smile.

After a couple of days of feeling like I was scolding her every time I turned around,
I decided we needed some good mom/daughter time.

So after I put Maia down for her nap, I pulled out my foot spa
and treated Eliana to her first pedicure.
I think the smile on her face says it all.

Showing off her pretty toes.

This final shot was taken later that same day.
I have to include it because it makes me laugh every time I remember this moment.

I was in another room and heard Eliana holler down the hall,
"Mom, is this for boobs?"

Not only had she found an eye mask given to us during a previous flight,
she had taken a great guess as to how it should be properly worn.

Yes, our little girl is growing up!

I sure love that guy!

Matt recently took some of our students out for a game of paintball.
(JV Slovenia already has the gear and Matt found a location they could use for free - score!)

Some of the students looking quite friendly at the beginning of the day.

Getting a little tougher as the day wore on.

By the end of they day they had the "tough" look down.

The whole crew minus Matt (who is taking the shot).

I have always been amazed at how naturally Matt builds community wherever he goes.
I sure love that guy!

Suspicious photos

Recently I downloaded the photos from my phone to my computer . . . and I discovered a suspicious series of photos.  My first thought was, "I don't even remember taking these - when did I take these and why???" It was the perspective of the shots (as well as the subject matter) that clued me in . . . hehe.  Check them out:

#1 Not a bad shot actually . . .but it goes downhill from here.

#2 Cropping - yeah.  Need to work on that.

 #3  Maia had some paparazzi.

 #4 Um . . . is that a pull-up in her hand??

#5 This shot definitely was not taken by someone taller than 2 1/2 feet tall!

#6 Final shot - I laughed when I first saw it . . .and then realized this photo shoot could have had a very bad ending.  Just glad that my phone didn't get dropped in the toilet!
